Positive, force-free and games-based dog training online
4-Paws Canine Academy started in Aberdeen in 2017, but has now moved to Denmark. We still offer online private sessions – and if there is interest from at least two parties, we still also offer online classes via Zoom.
At 4-Paws Canine Academy we use only force-free and positive dog training methods to ensure that we create a strong bond between you and your dog. All training is planned with the dog’s health in mind and we are therefore aware of and customise all of our training to suit each individual dog.
Not everything that is suitable for bigger dogs are suitable for smaller dogs and vice versa. Age can also be a limitation to what kind of training is sensible for the dog and all of this is taken into account to maximise the training outcome while still ensuring the dog has a great time without straining or injuring itself. You can read more about force-free positive dogtraining here.

What exactly is positive and force-free dogtraining? Many dog owners and “trainers” have come to believe that positive and force-free dogtraining is something that it
We have also been chosen as Scotland’s best dog trainer within the category ”Advanced dog training” for 2021/22 by the Scotland Prestige Awards and CorporateLiveWire.
At 4-Paws Canine Academy one of our specialities is tricks anddog dancing (also known as Heelwork to Music).
Dog dancing is a fantastic sport which can be adapted to each individual dog no matter the breed, age or physical limitations. Training tricks from dog dancing is a great form of mental stimulation and is therefore useful for all ages. Dog dancing and tricks training has also been proven to create a much stronger bond between dog and owner. We love training tricks with our dogs as we also see a massive focus boost which is important for all dogs, no matter if it is a family pet or a competition dog.
Dog Parkour is another one of our specialities. This is a new and very fascinating sport and activity that you can do with your dog. Dog Parkour training involves training with different objects in your environment. The things that you see in your environment, such as trees, bins, benches or sign posts will be incorporated in your training. By encouraging your dog to interact with different things in its environment in a positive and fun way will boost your dog’s confidence massively!
Our lifeskills classes are our newest addition to our services. These classes are meant for dogs that need a better recall, more focus, better loose leash walking and general manners.
This class is very popular for puppy owners but is open to dogs of all ages as old dogs should also get the chance to be trusted off leash at some point.
This class will also boost your dog’s confidence, teach it to work in distracting environments as well as preparing it for vet visits. It is an ideal foundation for all dogs and owners.
It has become very popular within the dog training world to get private sessions, also known as 1-2-1s. Not all dogs are able to focus in classes or feeling comfortable around other dogs. Maybe you cannot fit the time of the classes into your schedule, or maybe you would just like that extra intimate session to really get to terms with your personal dog training struggle.
Our private sessions can be accustomed to address any issue that you might be having, and together we will design your very own unique training plan so that you can turn your struggle into a strength!
It is also possible to book me for workshops all over the world! Would you like a weekend workshop with tricks & dog dancing? Or maybe a full week workshop with dog parkour? Seeing as tricks can also be a huge part of dog parkour, you could also book me for a dog parkour and tricks workshop. Maybe you’d like something totally different such as cooperative care and handling? Vet-prep? This is also something we can do!
Do you have a brilliant idea for a workshop you’d like to have in your area, then get in touch with me today!

Annalouise is brilliant at what she does. She prepared well for the session taking on board all of the areas I wanted to work on with my dog, Mac. She provided a comprehensive document after covering everything we discussed so I could refer to it and share with family. She has also been on hand for any clarification or additional queries I have had. Thanks again!!!
