Welcome to 4-Paws Canine Academy’s positive dog training in Aberdeen!

At 4-Paws Canine Academy we use only force-free and positive dog training methods to ensure that we create a strong bond between you and your dog. All training is planned with the dog’s health in mind and we are therefore aware of and customise all of our training to suit each individual dog.
Not everything that is suitable for bigger dogs are suitable for smaller dogs and vice versa. Age can also be a limitation to what kind of training is sensible for the dog and all of this is taken into account to maximise the training outcome while still ensuring the dog has a great time without straining or injuring itself. You can read more about force-free positive dogtraining here.

force-free positive dogtraining

Our speciality

At 4-Paws Canine Academy we specialise in dog-dancing (also known as Heelwork to Music) and dog-parkour. Furthermore, we focus very much on the mental stimulation of the dog as this is often neglected or simply not informed enough about.
Dog dancing is a fantastic sport which can be accustomed to each individual dog no matter the breed, age or physical limitations. Training tricks from dog dancing is a great form of mental stimulation and is therefore useful for all ages, and dog dancing has also been proven to create a much stronger bond between dog and owner.
Dog-parkour is a more physical dog-sport, but if it is practised right it is just as much mental stimulation as well as physical stimulation due to the amount of control you develop with your dog and the amount of creativity you put into it.
Mental stimulation is unfortunately often forgot about, and many people believe you have to physically exercise your dog more than mentally. However, by only exercising physically you gradually build up endurance in your dog, which means that it will require more and more physical exercise in order to gain the same outcome as last time. Also, if you have a dog that is very energetic, physical exercise will most often not be enough to calm it down properly. Mental stimulation is about having the dog use its brain to solve puzzles or figure out how to please you. This is incorporated into all of our classes as we see mental stimulation as the most important thing you can do for and with your dog.
